Dear Harfield Villagers,
After months of work behind the scenes, we are pleased to make the long-awaited announcement that
the official launch of the HVCID is the 1st of April 2015.
There’s no need to be concerned about April Fool’s, because, as you may have noticed, there are already 2 ADT patrol vehicles, sporting the HVCID logo, on the streets of Harfield. We have also invited those who’ve shown interest, to a Street Captain meeting on Tuesday, 24 March 2015. We will also be available at the Harfield Village carnival on Saturday 28 March to answer all your questions.
If you don’t have any questions and would like to get on with Signing Up, please complete the online form at http://www.hvcid.co.za/adt-sign-up/, or email us for an offline form at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note that filling in the Join Us form previously would only have added you to our mailing list. You still need to complete the Sign Up form to subscribe to the service and be a part of this initiative.
New customers will be contacted by ADT to complete the Sign Up process.
Existing ADT customers’ rates will not be automatically adjusted, until you complete the Sign Up form. ADT will then adjust your premium amount without contacting you.
If you completed a Sign Up form at the community meeting on 1 December 2014, then your form has already been sent to ADT.
The standardised rate for Home/Business monitoring and armed response is R399 (including VAT). This will also give you access to the phone number for the central hub in Harfield Village, which will be managed by the HVCID hub manager. We are still in the process of setting up the hub and hiring the hub manager. Once that is in place you will have a local contact to answer your questions and who will provide feedback on all security issues in the village. They will also oversee the patrol vehicles and liaise with ADT. And, of course, by signing up you will be a proud contributor to an initiative that provides dedicated security to Harfield Village!
If you are with another security company and don’t want to leave them, or are not interested in a home/business alarm company, but still want to contribute towards this initiative, there is a Street Patrol only Sign Up option for a reduced rate of R199.50 (R175+VAT). The same Sign Up form applies: www.hvcid.co.za/adt-sign-up/.
There is more information available on our website on the About Us and FAQ pages: www.hvcid.co.za/faq/. We, the HVCID Committee, also intend to make ourselves available for face-to-face chats in the Village going forward.
We really need YOU to make this initiative work! The more people who sign up, the more leverage we have to negotiate for more security resources for Harfield Village. ADT have also made advance commitments to deliver more into the village in proportion to greater take-up. So please forward this email to anyone you know in the Village.
The initial phase of this project will roll out in Harfield Village only, since we only have 2 patrol vehicles. The boundaries of the HVCID are Imam Haron Road, Chichester Road, Rosmead Avenue, Kenilworth Road, and the railway line.
On behalf of all who live in the Village and who will benefit from this initiative, the HVCID Committee wish to thank you for your support!
The HVCID team
