In partnership with![]() Dear Residents of Harfield Village, 2024 has been another challenging year for a lot of people. I hope that you manage to take some time to recharge, especially in nature and that you also manage to do some exercise! It is so healing… A heartfelt Thank You to all the role players in our area who work so hard, many of them volunteers, to keep us safe. We appreciate your dedication and commitment to our Community. You all deserve our respect and Thanks! Thank you for joining us at our combined 2024 AGM! We organised an informative Carers and Nannies Crime Awareness Talk on Friday 13th in Hampstead Park. Invaluable tips were shared on what to do to prevent a crime occurring and also what to do if something unfortunately happens to you. Thank you to everyone who joined us! Thank you to Phumza from Fidelity ADT, Warrant Officer Chetty and Captain Bok from Claremont SAPS and Derek Bluck from Har-Lyn Neighbourhood Watch for sharing their insights and tips with us. We so appreciate your time and dedication! Thank you to Gouwa from Kenilworth Center for organising the refreshments and treats…they were so appreciated! We are a Community, we care, we work together and we are here to help. I have blocked out the children’s faces for safety reasons. The Carers and Nannies agreed to their photo’s being shared. These are important reminders and notices, so I am leaving them in the Newsletter each month. Please keep reading them as this helps with being part of a solution in our Community. We need everyone to help create a better Village for all of us. A reminder: If you are the unfortunate victim of a crime or attempted crime, no matter how small, please take note of as much detail as possible and open a case at SAPS, as soon as you can. The quicker you go to SAPS, the easier it is to hopefully apprehend and arrest the suspect/s. Take note of the vehicle registration, colour, make, model, number of occupants, gender of occupants, location and what direction they are travelling in. Give a comprehensive description of the individual/s (E.g. W/male wearing red hoodie with a green bag and white takkies.) And please WhatsApp me the case number on 081 412 6109. Also call Har-Lyn Neighbourhood Watch: 071 802 2454 (Please hold on the line if no one answers right away, as it will forward through to F-ADT). The HVCID Crime Alert WhatsApp Group is a no-chat group used to alert us to current crimes and suspicious activities in the Village. It is monitored by Fidelity ADT and our Armed Response Officers. If you would like to join the Group please send me an email on admin@hvcid.co.za Please Note: We have 2 dedicated Law Enforcement(LE) officers that work in our area!! They are there to respond to our complaints. Please call the Helpline number 021 480 7700 or 107 from a landline. They can address any Bylaw issue, illegal parking attendants, people sleeping, undressing, doing laundry, drinking on pavements or in our parks etc. The reference number is sent to you and the complaint goes directly to our LE officer’s device. They have to respond and revert back to the CoCT. When they are off duty, complaints are addressed by the City LE officers and auxiliary officers. Vacant homes, buildings and pieces of land are attracting criminality into our area. This includes residential and industrial property. Please log your concerns and complaints on the link below. Go to the safety and security category and log the property concerned. Also call SAPS and alert them and your Private Security Providers, so they can do regular checks. Our 2 dedicated F-ADT vehicles are also doing patrols in Harfield Village every day. https://eservices1.capetown.gov.za/coct/wapl/zsreq_app/index.html#/create CRIME REPORT : (Please note that we are not allowed to report specifics) FIDELITY ADT PATROL CARS: The two dedicated F-ADT response vehicles for Harfield Village are D19 and D20. Please continue to be aware of emails and calls from your supposed bank. Many people are giving their details and pin over the phone or clicking on email links and losing a lot of money. Your banks have been sending notices with alerts to this. Please take care! Fraud is rife at the moment! Never click on links on emails unless you are certain you know where they originate from! Remote jamming continues to increase. Please double check your car is locked even after you hear the beep! |
