In partnership with ![]() Dear Residents, Spring is tentatively emerging, as flowers begin to bloom, undeterred by the stubborn chill in the air… On Heritage Day, the 24 September, we, as proud South Africans, celebrate by remembering the heritage of the many cultures that represent and embody our beautiful country. Below are some opportunities to visit some of our museums and local treasures…Yes, for free on Heritage Day! Free entry is offered to Iziko Museums, including the South African Museum, Slave Lodge, and the Bo-Kaap Museum. Free entry is also offered at Zeitz MOCAA for its African and diaspora art. Free access to CapeNature reserves and selected SANParks national parks are available during Heritage Week. Additionally, the Long March to Freedom exhibition in Century City will offer free guided tours on Heritage Day. Heritage Month is celebrated under the theme: “Re-imagine our Heritage Institutions for a New Era”, emphasising the importance of leveraging heritage as a foundation for building a dynamic, socially responsive, technologically innovative and economically inclusive future. Join us this Wednesday in Harfield Village as we encourage you to meet your neighbours, take part in a street cleanup, and spend some time getting to know each other. A reminder: If you are the unfortunate victim of a crime or attempted crime, no matter how small, please take note of as much detail as possible and open a case at SAPS, as soon as you can. The quicker you go to SAPS, the easier it is to hopefully apprehend and arrest the suspect/s. Take note of the vehicle registration, colour, make, model, number of occupants, gender of occupants, location and what direction they are travelling in.
