HVCID Newsletter April 2022

A reminder about the Easter Egg Hunt in Hampstead Park tomorrow. See the poster below for details.

Broken and old knives and tools should definitely NOT be thrown out with your household rubbish!!

A Har-Lyn sharps container will be kept at Cafe Jess opposite the post office on Imam Haron Road. From next week you’ll be able to discard these items safely. Once full the container will be emptied and the items disposed of responsibly.

TOGETHER. STRONGER. SAFER.

Har-Lyn Neighbourhood watch does incredible work for our Community and they are looking for patrollers.  Without them looking out for us we would have a lot more crime in our area. It really does help if more eyes are out there keeping us safe.  Donations are awesome too.  www.harlynwatch.org.za

An Appeal:
Maitland Cottage is in desperate need of Nappies.  They use over 1200 nappies a month.  They are looking for donations of Adult size small and Baby Nappies Size 6.  Please call Sharon if you can help 0836908226.  Sharon can collect!

Clean-Ups:
We continue in our quest to Clean Up the Village and our communal areas. I am appealing to all Harfield Village Residents to please help us.
Please don’t wait for someone else to do it.  If you are out walking, please take a bag and collect any litter you find along your way or just spend a few minutes cleaning outside your homes each week…
If we all do a little, we can do a lot!

NB: As we head into Autumn and longer dark hours…Please make sure your street lights are working out of load shedding times!  If they are not, please report them to the City on the eservices site below.  If they do not respond, please send me an email with your reference numbers to follow up!  You can also use eservices to log broken or missing street signs, potholes, or broken pavements, dislodged paving stones or a road in need of resurfacing, dumping, litter, squatting and more.
