HVCID Newsletter Feb/March 2026

In partnership with

Our 1st Camera site is installed at the intersection of Dingle and 3rd Avenue!!
We have 3 new cameras, which will be monitored soon.
Please see details below to find out how you can join in this initiative.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who has contributed so far!

Let’s do this Harfield residents!Dear Residents,

Please see the note below from Phumza Nkwenkwezi S51, FADT.

I am so grateful for the work and dedication of our Officers, despite the Justice system often failing us.
Phumza, you are doing incredible work in our Community.  And to S52, your partner, and all our FADT Officers…we Thank You!🙏

‘As an ARO it is very painful when we catch a perpetrator, who is doing crime in the area.
When it comes to Justice for them, they can question you like you are the one who committed the crime. You need so much evidence and camera footage for the courts.

This is not about me, this is about the safety of the community.
If we work together, as ARO’s, with a community, we can better fight the crime.

So as a community, please really think about installing more cameras to help us as ARO’s to have more witnesses in this justice system.
I find myself losing hope in our justice system!

With the help of more cameras and monitoring, we can all play a big role in fighting the crime in this community.’  Phumza🙏

Call to action:
As you can see from the crime figures below…our crime is up!!

We are encouraging you all to help add an extra layer of security to our Village.

Please participate by:Making a once-off contribution of R465 (or more, if you can) toward our camera installations Signing up for a R50 monthly debit order.  This is for monitoring and maintenance — about the cost of one coffee a month!

This project only works if we do it together.  Not everyone can give the same amount, but everyone can play a part.
Safety grows when communities participate.
