In partnership with ![]() Dear Residents, Some positive news… Cape Town’s R6.8 billion safety and security budget for 2026/27 includes R83.1 million for Public Safety Training College upgrades and R20 million for fire station improvements, part of a record investment aimed at bolstering policing. The budget, aimed at combating crime through technology, also covers CCTV expansion, drone technology, and a new law enforcement base. Key Safety Budget Highlights (2026/27): Total Allocation: R6.8 billion for the Safety and Security Directorate. Training College: R83.1 million for upgrading training facilities, aiming to move away from temporary, scattered buildings. Fire Services: R20 million for fire station upgrades and repairs. Infrastructure: R14.2 million for a new law enforcement base near Stellenbosch Arterial Road and R10 million for the Joint Policing Centre upgrade. Technological Advancement: Significant focus on drone technology, CCTV cameras, and body-worn cameras to combat crime. New Station: A new fire station in Langa. ![]() CRIME REPORT: (Please note that we are not allowed to report specifics) FIDELITY ADT PATROL CARS: The two dedicated F-ADT response vehicles for Harfield Village are S51 (D19) and S52 (D20). Incidents Reported by Fidelity ADT: 1 – 31 March 2026: – Trespassing – Suffolk Street Community response – woman screaming. S51 called LE and W/O Chetty assisted. Lady was taken to Groote Schuur. – Nanny was robbed on Surrey Street, Patrolled the area. No arrests. – A resident and her dog were attacked by another dog in Hereford Rd. Nearby residents assisted and matter was resolved. The lady sustained head injuries. – A dress was stolen out of the resident’s yard in 1st Ave. Patrolled area. – A group of vagrants were doing drugs in Princes Park. S51 and S52 moved them out of the area. – Unit 9 corner Sunderland and Worcester Roads an attempted break-in occurred. Suspect fled the scene. S51 and S52 patrolled the area. No sign of suspect. NB!!! Please be aware of emails and calls from your supposed bank. Many people are giving their details and pin over the phone or clicking on email links and losing a lot of money. Please take care! Fraud is rife! Remote jamming!! Please double check your car is locked even after you hear the beep! False Council workers claims. Please don’t let anyone on to your property before checking that they are legitimate!
