HVCID Newsletter May 2023

Dear Residents of Harfield Village,

On Sunday, June 11, we will be hosting our 2nd Harfield Village Dream Clean.
I encourage you all to come and join us from 10-12noon.  We live in a beautiful Village, but we do have litter issues and cleaning up starts with us.
Did you know? South Africans generate about 55 million tons of waste every year.  Litter continues to largely be a deliberate act. But why do people intentionally litter?
Studies have found that the answer generally boils down to four main reasons.
– Laziness or carelessness
– Lack of access to bins
– Lenient law enforcement
– Presence of litter already in the area Let’s combat this as a Community.

We’ll see you on the 11th June!
