HVCID Newsletter March 2025

In partnership with

Dear Residents,

We are all struggling with the increase in Traffic in our area and in Cape Town in general.

MyCiTi construction on Imam Haron will start soon and we will need immense patience and deep breathing to navigate the next few years.  If you would like more information on MyCiTi please read below.

2nd MyCiti Info Day
????Tuesday, 18 March 2025
⏰17h00 – 18h30
????Claremont Civic Centre

The 2nd info day will include a presentation on:
1. Traffic management plan
2. Construction work sequencing

There will be opportunities for questions with the project engineers with project maps against the walls.
Hopefully Traffic Enforcement will join the Info day, so that concerns can be tabled directly with the officials. Please see our Community Calendar below…

We encourage you to come and take part in the events and if you would like to get involved, please give me a call!

Please keep reading these reminders and take note of important numbers you may need.  Let’s be part of a solution in our Community.  We need everyone to help create a better Village for all of us.

A reminder:  If you are the unfortunate victim of a crime or attempted crime, no matter how small, please take note of as much detail as possible and open a case at SAPS, as soon as you can. The quicker you go to SAPS, the easier it is to hopefully apprehend and arrest the suspect/s.
Take note of the vehicle registration, colour, make, model, number of occupants, gender of occupants, location and what direction they are travelling in.
Give a comprehensive description of the individual/s (E.g. W/male wearing red hoodie with a green bag and white takkies.)
And please WhatsApp me the case number on 081 412 6109.

Here are some numbers to keep on hand if you need help or need to alert someone urgently…

NB!!!  Please continue to be aware of emails and calls from your supposed bank.  Many people are giving their details and pin over the phone or clicking on email links and losing a lot of money.  Your banks have been sending notices with alerts to this.
Please take care!

Fraud is rife at the moment!  Never click on links on emails unless you are certain you know where they originate from!
Remote jamming continues to increase. Please double check your car is locked even after you hear the beep!

It takes a Community to make an impact and we want to highlight the different roles we cover within the Village.
Please have a look at the HVCID website for more information about our role in the Community.
